PiHue Creations was established in 2021 in Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh — a region that has been weaving carpets since the seventeenth century. Our history is short; the craft we work in is not.
The cluster we belong to
Bhadohi and the neighbouring districts of Uttar Pradesh together make up India's largest handmade-carpet ecosystem — awarded a Geographical Indication (GI) tag for its hand-knotted work, and responsible for the majority of the country's rug exports. Skilled weavers, dye houses, wash yards, spinning mills, finishing units and packing houses all sit within a few kilometres of each other. That is why complete rugs are made here rather than assembled here.
What "est. 2021" really means
The company is new. The people making the rugs are not. Master weavers on our looms trained under weavers who trained under their fathers. Our dye masters carry recipes measured out in generations. We put a young company's discipline — audit trails, transaction certificates, digital knot maps — around a tradition that predates any of them, and export the result.
Where we go from here
We are building a factory that a buyer's compliance team can walk through with a clipboard and leave satisfied. That means audited labour standards, chemical-safety-tested materials, traceable wool and recycled-fibre programmes — plus the plain everyday work of shipping a beautiful rug on the day we said we would.
